Skeptical Highlights:
BC Humanists in the Pride Parade
On Sunday, July 31st, 2011, the BC Humanists will be marching in the Vancouver Pride Parade for the second consecutive year to show our support for the LGBTTQ community and to promote humanism to the wider community.
Everyone wanting to march with us should be at Section F by 12:30 pm. The parade takes about 2 hours to walk, so bring lots of water, sunscreen, and colourful outfits!
Here’s the directions to enter F from Pride:
“Please enter WEST bound ROBSON STREET from BURRARD STREET. Continue WEST along ROBSON STREET towards THURLOW STREET and Section F. Parade Assembly Marshals (green volunteer t-shirts) will direct you to your specific assembly position.”
Vancouver SkeptiCamp 2011
Saturday, August 6 · 10:00am – 7:00pm in the Victoria Learning Theatre, Irving K. Barber Learning Centre Room 182
Vancouver SkeptiCamp is a fun, informative, one-day, free, open, attendee-driven, grassroots skeptic conference featuring many brief (~10 minute) presentations with Q&A sessions. We hope to make this year’s event as successful as the previous four Vancouver SkeptiCamps, but we need your participation, either as a speaker or as an attendee. Please take a moment to register today: http://vancouver.skepticamp.org This is our fifth skepticamp in Vancouver, we have a full roster of speakers (18) but we encourage you come out and participate as these talks will each have some great QandA portions and we really like to involve the audience.
